New Assessors in training: ACHS Assessor Competency Training (ACT) June 2022

First face to face ACT conducted in Sydney since 2019, bringing together health care quality leaders from States & Territories in the first phase of their training to become fully qualified ACHS Assessors.

ACHS held the first face-to-face Assessor Competency Training (ACT) since 2019 this month in our Sydney office. The three-day training brought together a high-calibre group of health care quality leaders from States & Territories in the first phase of their training to become fully qualified ACHS Assessors.

After completing their extensive online training, attendees were taken through a simulated assessment over the three days to learn the roles, responsibilities and skills required of an ACHS Assessor. Assessment methodologies including High Risk Scenario Testing, Patient Journeys, ACSQHC’s PICMoRS were all practiced along with interview skills, communication skills, handling difficult situations, how to use electronic assessment tools, skills in writing detailed reports and precise summaries and ethical issues including confidentiality and conflict of interest.
