Free ACHS Member Masterclass: Exploring Australia’s Health Workforce
We will be joined by Professor Alison McMillan PSM, the Australian Government’s Chief Nursing and Midwifery Officer, for this highly topical Masterclass.
Workforce management and planning are paramount to a sustainable health workforce that provides safe, high quality-care. In our upcoming Member Masterclass, our Improvement Academy Director, Associate Professor Bernie Harrison, will be in conversation with esteemed guest speaker, Professor Alison McMillan PSM, Chief Nursing and Midwifery Officer, to shed light on opportunities and challenges in Australia’s health workforce.
This Masterclass will explore the highly discussed topic of workforce issues and management. This shortage is projected to be exacerbated by our nation’s ageing population coupled with increasing healthcare demands.
About Professor McMillan PSM
As the Commonwealth Chief Nursing and Midwifery Officer, Professor McMillan provides high-level strategic policy advice to the Australian Government and the Executive and staff within the Department of Health and Aged care on nursing, midwifery, health system reform, health workforce, regulation and education. Professor McMillan’s role remains central to shaping our health workforce strategy and respond to challenges related to the sustainability, regulation and support of the health workforce.
In this Masterclass, Professor McMillan will delve into the pressing problem of health workforce shortages as well as the proposed primary care reform strategies.
