1. Tell us about your journey with ACHS, how long have you been working here?
I have been privileged to be part of both ACHS and ACHSI teams for the past seven and a half years. Over the course of my time here, I have been involved in various aspects of our accreditation process, from managing documentation to facilitating communication between stakeholders. It has been a great journey, and I look forward to continuing to support our organisation's goals and objectives in the years to come.
2. How does your role support ACHS Members?
I have been with different teams over the time and my role as an Administrative Assistant plays a crucial part in supporting ACHS Members by ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of accreditation processes. Ultimately, my goal is to contribute to a positive experience for our Members, ensuring they have the support and resources they need to meet and exceed accreditation standards.
3. What do you find most rewarding about working in the healthcare sector?
Being part of the accreditation team means I'm contributing to the framework that supports and enhances healthcare delivery. Knowing that my role helps ensure that patients receive the best possible care is incredibly fulfilling.
4. What is a recent positive or memorable interaction you have had with a Member?
One recent positive interaction I had with a Member Organisation involved assisting a contact with portal access. The contact needed access to certain features and resources within the portal, which were crucial for their accreditation assessment.
I promptly responded to their inquiry and worked closely with our IT team to ensure that the contact could successfully access resources they needed.
It was a memorable example of how our collaborative efforts can make a tangible difference in facilitating accreditation success.
5. How do you practise self-care?
Self-care is essential for maintaining overall well-being and managing stress. I practise self-care by cooking new recipes, meditating, having hot baths and going for massages. During challenging times, I seek support by talking to friends and family members.
6. What healthcare topic most interests you?
As an administrative assistant for a healthcare accrediting agency, I find various healthcare topics interesting, but one that particularly interests me is healthcare quality improvement programs. These programs incorporate a range of strategies aimed at improving patient care and safety within healthcare organisations.
Thank you Sumi, for sharing your insights and experience with us. We look forward to bringing you further Staff Spotlight articles in the future and showcasing the incredible talent that we foster at ACHS.
