ACHS Medal

The 2026 ACHS Medal Award Is Now Open!

Now in its 42nd year, the ACHS Medal is the organisation's highest award. It recognises an individual for outstanding contribution to improving quality and safety in Australian health services in a manner consistent with the mission and values of the Australian Council on Healthcare Standards.

To be considered for the ACHS Medal, you can either be nominated by someone else or apply directly yourself. All nominations and applications must be made in writing through our online form.


Nominees must demonstrate any or all of the following criteria at an international, national, or state-wide level:

Distinguished leadership in quality practices

Outstanding achievement in research into quality and safety of health systems

Outstanding achievement in maintain a continuous quality improvement focus in healthcare delivery systems

Outstanding achievement in the promotion of quality in health care
